The Federation is divided into three districts: the Eastern District (New York), the Midwest District (Chicago) and the Western District. Each district is made up of local chapters known as Societies.

PFA President
Demetrios A. Filios

Demetrios Filios was born in Athens. Both his parents were born and raised in Arcadia; His mother Sotiria in Leontari near Megalopolis and his late father Alexios in Leptini, a small picturesque village on the Arcadian side of Taygetos Mountain.

He studied Political Science and Public Administration at the Panteion University in Athens. After graduating with a BA degree he came to New York to pursue graduate studies in Economics at the New School University. He began at the same time his career as a professional journalist working at the then Daly Greek American Newspaper "Proini" initially as translator, moving on to become an editor and later the managing director. He was a contributing writer to many Greek and Greek American Newspapers including ("Eleftherotipia," Mesimvrini" and Tahidromos"), as well as the Athens News Agency and the Hellenic Times. Currently he is an accredited correspondent in the United States and the United Nations of ERT-Radio and a political editor and senior producer for the Hellenic Public Radio Cosmos FM, broadcasting over WNYE 91.5 in New York and via the internet at www.gaepis.org. He is also a professional public relations and communications consultant, serving as managing partner of the P.R. & Marketing Firm Prom Com Images Co.

Demetris Filios became involved with PFA as a young graduate student in the 1980s:
·    He joined the New York chapter #1 Geros tou Morea and he was elected a member of the board in 1981.
·    The next year he was sent as a delegate to the national Convention in Tripolis and he was elected Treasurer of the PFA.
·    In 1988 he was elected unanimously as the youngest Governor ever of the Eastern District serving until 1990.
·    He was chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 1989 Convention in New York.
·    In 1990 he was elected as 3rd VP of the PFA, responsible for the youth.
·    In 1995 he was elected 1st VP serving under President Fotis Kokosioulis for two years.
·    The next year he was elected president of Geros Tou Morea the largest chapter of the PFA serving until 2000.
·    In 2006 he was elected again 1st VP during the convention in NY serving under President Dr. Peter Evangelou until last year.
·    At the 68th National Convention in Chicago, in October 2008, he was unanimously elected Supreme President of PFA and was reelected at the 69th National Convention in Las Vegas, October 2009.

He is also a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral Parish SS Constantine & Helen in Brooklyn, NY.
·    He served as executive VP of the professional organization Federation of Hellenic Media Abroad, a non Governmental, not – for - profit organization of journalists and radio and TV producers formed under the auspices of SAE the council of Hellenes Abroad. He was elected in Thessaloniki in 1999, serving until 2003.
·    He was honored in 1990 with the Merit Award of the Greek American School of St. Irene in Astoria, NY.
·    And in 2007 an “Arcadian of the Year” by the Mother Chapter Geros tou Morea.
